Quito, Ecuador here we come

We get to Quito, Ecuador and check into Casa Aliso ... What a wonderful place ... Amazing staff, comfortable rooms ... Maybe we are a bit biased since we just came from the Amazon lodge :)

Most of the provinces in Ecuador are named after volcanos or rivers. Quito is in Pichincha province and surrounded by two volcanos Wawa Pichincha and Ruku Pichincha. Wawa means young and Ruku means old.

The city is protected by La Virgen de Quito, a statue on a hill over looking the area.

Next to the restaurant we ate at, are a series of tunnels that have local handicrafts ... As Maya was shopping ... She was accosted by some kids that wanted to interview her in English ... The process took a long time :)
