Municipal square

Home to Government buildings, and some former government buildings- now turned museums. The square had been used as a primary location to administer punishments to black slaves. We also stumbled across our tour guide, who was the only one in a 50 mile radius that spoke any semblance of English! We loves him- super nice guy and was actually from Salvador! I must mention he randomly sprung into song through the 3 hours we spent together, various Motown and some 80's tracks- what a gem! He had a terrific voice! Juraci de Jesus (but I affectionately referred to him as Julius)
