Pelourinho and some history

We arrived into town, rolling and stumbling off the bus, arriving to a very tall elevator, designed to take us to Pelourinho for a bargain price if 15 brazilian cents. We were warned by blogs not to take adjoining streets any time of the day- good advice me thinks, very sketchy.
Welcome to Elevator Lacerda, where we gladly packed ourselves into a small elevator with 30 others. Cozy.
